Tegimented cases have a hardness rating of 1,200 Vickers, versus 200-240 Vickers for normal stainless steel cases.A Tegiment layer is not a coating of a foreign material, instead the steel is actually hardened.The primary advantage to a Corum 61320.165001 Bracelet Tegimented case is extreme resistance to scratches and other case abrasions. The Tegimented steel is very durable, by itself.But Sinn likes to take things to another level, they take the hardened steel and apply a black PVD treatment.
